1953 Rare Dinette Set by Raymond Loewy for Arvin

Very hard to find stellar dinette set designed by the famed Raymond Loewy for Arvin of Columbus, Indiana in 1953.

Known as the Princess Line it has a thin profile in all components for a clean minimalist look and was the flagship set in advertisements for the company. The X-base tabletop is all steel and in an off/soft white. The chairs are produced from wrought iron and exceptionally strong despite the delicate appearance and are in soft blue vinyl. They feature and X-welded structure below the seats for great strength. The X-base coupled with the chevron edges gives the piece an iconic Mid-Century Modern look that captures Raymond Loewy’s unique vision and aesthetic, with the X-base table theme being copied by other manufacturers in the ensuing years. The entire piece has been professionally restored and refinished to original specs, including new bright sky blue vinyl. This set is in pristine condition. The table top is like glass to the feel and look. The bright and airy colors make this an ideal set for kitchen or combined kitchen living areas. Original labels on the underside of table and chairs. Not only for use in kitchen or dining, it could be ideal for enclosed patios and porches in temperate climates.
